Terry got his musical start in the Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps. He has a percussion performance degree from Washington State University. Just out of school, he won a position in the prestigious Air Force Band of Liberty in Boston, Massachusetts. While in Boston, Marsh was a regular with many local jazz and rock bands. He and his wife Tracie, were members of the New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra. From 2001 to 2005, Terry and Tracie toured the world on board cruise ships. Playing for large productions and theater shows, the couple backed up numerous performers and entertainers such as Helen Reddy, Charro, the Platters and Crystal Gayle.
Moving to Poulsbo in 2005, Terry started The Drummers Den, a premier drum studio and school of percussion. Specializing in advanced level drum students, he started the specialty group, The All-Star Drumline which features percussion students from Sequim to Tacoma. He also works with high school marching percussion programs.
Terry is an adept communicator and has developed a unique and effective teaching program that is guaranteed to help excel students of any level. As a well-rounded musician he is able to teach all styles from precision drumming, to pop, jazz, classical, rock, funk and latin styles. Since 2005, The Den has produced 7 state champions and has helped many students move onto college level music programs. In addition to being a fantastic educator, Mr. Marsh is a professional working musician. He is a member of Soul Siren, Jazz Canvas Productions, The Tracie Marsh Band, and The Jazz Ambassadors.
